10 Kasım Atatürk'ü Anma | A Tribute to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk

Each year, on the 10th of November, the West London Turkish School community comes together in a solemn ceremony to honour the memory and legacy of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founding father of the Republic of Turkey.

At 09:05, the very moment of his passing, we will observe a moment of silence. In this silence, we remember his unparalleled vision, his dedication to education and modernity, and the profound love he had for the Turkish nation. This ceremony is a poignant and important tradition, teaching our students the values of respect, gratitude, and national consciousness.

What to Expect:

  • A Moment of Silence: A respectful tribute at 09:05 to commemorate the passing of the great leader.

  • Poems and Speeches: Students and teachers will share Atatürk's own words, poems, and speeches that reflect on his principles and revolutions.

  • Laying of Wreaths: A symbolic wreath-laying ceremony to pay our respects to his eternal legacy.

  • Reflective Atmosphere: A dignified gathering that allows us to reflect on the enduring impact of Atatürk's life's work on our nation and our community here in London.

This is not merely an act of mourning, but a reaffirmation of our commitment to the secular, modern, and progressive principles he championed. We invite our students, parents, and community members to join us in this meaningful act of remembrance.

"The truest mentor in life is science." - Mustafa Kemal Atatürk
